Miriam Gomberg, " Mimi G Designs" is a local Reno based artist that has captivated my attention with her mermaid series, and Hootchie Kootchie Burlesque dancer series. Being a mermaid photographer, and artist, I really am drawn to her mermaid artwork, and have purchased many paintings, and multi- mixed media paintings to add to my collections of mermaids. One that I really adore is a mermaid ascending in the water with red hair and a pink mermaid tail. The painting has sequins and small crystals glued to the ocean floor that mimic the light that shells cast in the abyss. The mermaid series I have range from cute, comical and whimsical sea nymphs, to more elaborate renditions of the piece, " Metamorphosis" by Sheila Wolk. A majestic billowing Siren surrounded by a school of yellow fish. I have several cute yarn mermaid dolls created by MimiG Designs that are delightful, and colorful with an array of buttons, sequins, pearls and embellishments that sparkle the senses.
Mimi's playful use of color, and abstract-ism can best be described in an Octopus with mermaids mixed media painting she gave to me several years ago. I have entitled the painting, "Arthur and the Sea Maidens", @ 2014. A large purple octopus, displaying arms with faceted pink stones for tentacles reached upwards to three dazzling mermaids swimming at the surface. The mermaids have mixed media tails, one of green metallic leaves, one pink metallic stars, and the last sporting a metallic butterfly shaped tail. Arthur the Octopus has large button eyes with purple stone beads, and blue pearl beads outlining his big eyes. The painting draws you in because of the glitter used randomly as the sea bed floor, and the ever so penetrating large orbs of his eyes. Definitely a pleasing piece in my mermaid collection.~!
Miriam's sense of playful bold colors, embellishments, and dramatic posturing of the mermaids all forms a unique style that I antiquate within my own style of mermaid inspired photography. Miriam has painted a beautiful arm chair with one of my photographs taken at a sunset, wind swept beach in Asilomar, CA. The likeness, and authenticity are uncanny, and unrivaled. Miriam has painted furniture for me with mermaid scenes, octopus, and underwater sea inspired creatures in a mixed media theme that is stunning and exquisite for any lover of mermaids. I highly recommend MimiG Designs for any artistic endeavor, as Miriam has proven to be very versatile, and has broken many boundaries in the art world. She can literally paint any design you want, and creates magic in the sparkle of life~!!

“I love the self portrait dogs that Mimi Gomberg makes; they are beautiful. And of course her mermaid work"
III commissioned my beautiful and gifted artist friend, Miriam Gomberg, to paint a piece of a women with three feral cats that have come into our lives. I provided her pictures (left to right) of Little One, Mama and Kitten. I am thrilled with this beautiful painting that is hanging directly in front of my computer. If you need a commissioned piece of your pet or you and your pet, this is Mimi’s wonderful style. She would love to do one for you.
Painting story: Little One was the mother of Kitten (I was able to gently get Kitten Dec 3, 2013 in a horrible snow storm. She was hiding in between a fence opening we share with our neighbor and was scared to death. She has never been outside since). Mama (middle) is the mother (we are almost certain) of Little One and Little One disappeared when Kitten was about 8 months old. So, that makes Kitten Mama’s grandkitten. Mama is now living her final years in comfort outside our home. This is really a special piece. Thank you Mimi.
